Hi there! I'm
JENNIFER MONTAGUE
and I do creative stuff with words.
MY STORY
(the short version)
I've had the privilege of working in four different countries in roles that required effective communication and turning customer's needs into actions. This international experience has not only helped me develop engaging writing skills, but also taught me the power of cultural awareness in communication.
MY WORK
From technical support articles to exciting promotional material and everything in between,
here's a peek at some of what I've done in my professional experience:

THE CHALLENGE: Come up with legal and technical content that both informs and engages a wide range of readers around the world on a monthly basis. THE BEST BIT: Coming up with legal and technical content that both informs and engages a wide range of readers around the world on a monthly basis! (Not available to the general public)

THE CHALLENGE: Drafting online support centre articles, translated into four languages, explaining how to process international transfers of professional football players in accordance with the FIFA Regulations and technical team. (Not available to general public). THE BEST BIT: Taking complex legal and technical jargon and explaining it in a clear and concise way for users in 250 countries to understand. (Not available to the general public)

THE CHALLENGE: To design the entire University of Brighton Orientation Programme brochure for international students, from designing the layout, organising the schedule to writing the copy. THE BEST BIT: Creating something both informative and fun. Seeing an increase in attendance of 40% in three years and a retention increase of 33%. Having the programme ranked 5th in the UK in overall student satisfaction was great, too. (To view, click image and follow link at the bottom)

FOR FUNSIES
I also enjoy writing in my down time. Heck, it's not all about work, right?

My travel blog, as the only thing that rivals my passion for writing is my passion for travel. (To visit, click image and follow link at the bottom)

As a contributor for a food website, yummyandscrummy.com, I had the opportunity to interview the founder of Brighton-based chocolaterie, Choccywoccydoodah. Sadly, the site no longer exists, but the interview lives on in my hard drive. (To view, click image and follow link at the bottom)

TESTIMONIALS
People like me. Here's proof:

Jennifer has been a tremendous help to my marketing team by providing her sharp attention to detail and natural voice to our media releases, circulars and marketing material in general. Luckily for us, Jennifer is also a highly creative and hardworking team player. She took it upon herself to rejuvenate and maintain our monthly newsletter, regularly coming up with fresh content in line with our branding guidelines. Jennifer always managed to create engaging copy that drew plenty of readers and her Twitter strategy has increased our social media presence and website traffic. Once you meet Jennifer, you will realise that her work ethic, skills and personality are a must for any team.

I was fortunate enough to work with Jennifer at Equity Travel. During that time her outstanding writing ability came to the fore, and she was chosen to edit copy for the company website as part of a major rebranding exercise. She also used her impressive travel knowledge to expand on the company’s portfolio of destinations, as well as improving existing itineraries. Jennifer’s humour and personality make her a pleasure to work with, and a credit to any team of which she is a part.
